History and Story
Based in the Aizu region of Fukushima, a land once synonymous with Samurai, Miyaizumi Meijo began brewing the Sharaku brand in 2008 In an effort to breathe new life into the company’s long history of sake production. By making major changes to the Toji system and giving even the smallest detail of the brewing process its due, Sharaku was able to retain a focus and balance of flavor that propelled the label to its award-winning status shortly after its inception.

Description
Brewed using Yamadanishiki rice sourced from the prestigious Special A district of Rokko, Hyogo, it is polished down to an extraordinary 20%, the highest polishing ratio ever achieved in Shraku’s history. Every technique and piece of expertise possessed by the brewery has been poured into its creation, resulting in a sake that truly lives up to the name “gokujo” (supreme).
The experience begins with a crystal-clear, delicate mouthfeel that unfolds into remarkable depth and complexity. Rich umami expands gently across the palate, complemented by pure, sharp sweetness and beautifully clean acidity. These elements intertwine seamlessly with a refined dryness, creating a harmonious, silk-like elegance. The finish lingers softly before concluding with an impressively crisp and clean cutoff.
